The 2014 movie, Happy New Year earned a mammoth figure of Rs 44. 97 crore! This is still the highest opening day numbers by a Bollywood movie.

Tiger Zinda Hai box office collections: On Friday, December 22, one of the most awaited movies of 2017, Tiger Zinda Hai starring Bhaijaan Salman Khan and Bollywood diva Katrina Kaif will hit the theatres. For the release of the movie, the fans of bhaijaan are pretty stoked about it. Salman Khan's last movie, Tubelight, which was a summer release left the fans yearning for more. The fans and the critics did not appreciate the movie yet it managed to bag more than Rs119 crore. The last mega-blockbuster of 2017 was Golmaal Again which raked Rs 205 crore and prior to that it was Baahubali 2 which released in way-back in April this year, grossed Rs 510 crore.

Shah Rukh Khan's 'Happy New Year' opening day earning record remains unperturbed since 2014. Baahubali 2 came close to beating it but failed to surpass it. So will Salman’s Tiger Zinda Hai able to earn more than what SRK's Happy New Year did in 2014. The 2014 movie, Happy New Year earned a mammoth figure of Rs 44. 97 crore! This is still the highest opening day numbers by a Bollywood movie. 'Baahubali: The Conclusion' with its Hindi version came second best with earning Rs 41 crore on day one.
Happy New Year which released in Diwali, 2014 was not much appreciated by the fans but the movie managed to earn a lot of money. In its lifetime collection, Happy New Year earned Rs 203 crore. Happy New Year was a multi-starrer movie and had the likes of Deepika Padukone and Abhishek Bachchan in the lead.
Tiger Zinda Hai is a sequel to the 2012 movie, which also did pretty good at the box-office. The movie earned, Rs 32.93 crore on its opening day. In its lifetime, the movie earned Rs 198.78 crore. For Tiger Zinda Hai, the movie has already created a lot of noise at the box office. It comes as no surprise that several shows have already become housefull as soon as the bookings opened for the movie. With the response that the film is already witnessing, it will be no surprise to see Tiger Zinda Hai breaking all the past Salman Khan records.
The trailer for the movie has already become one of the most liked Bollywood Hindi movie on YouTube with a million likes. The song 'Swag se Swagat' got more than a 100 million views on it. The movie is definitely on its path to becoming one of the biggest hit of 2017. It looks like the year will end on a good note for Salman Khan and his fans.
