The first ever BMW X3M and X4M design

The new BMW X3 M and BMW X4 M. A first look.

The BMW X model range from BMW M is growing rapidly, with two new all-wheel-drive, high-performance models in the shape of the new BMW X3 M and the new BMW X4 M soon being launched in the Sports Activity Vehicles (SAV) and Sports Activity Coupés (SAC) segments. The first prototypes of the two BMW M automobiles have already proved their dynamic driving qualities on the legendary Nürburgring track in their pre-release camouflage. Despite being in disguise, their typical M high-performance character still shone through.

GUARANTEED HIGHEST PERFORMANCE.

Even at an early stage of development, the new BMW X3 M and BMW X4 M have the classic design features of a BMW M model. These include large air intakes at the front of the vehicle, specifically M optimised aerodynamics and an exhaust system with four tailpipes integrated into the rear apron. The newly-developed straight six-cylinder engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology and high speed characteristics is also one of the technological highlights of the two high-performance models.

SUPERIOR DRIVING CHARACTERISTICS.

The new BMW X3 M and BMW X4 M use the model-specific M xDrive all-wheel drive system to ensure superior and performance-oriented driving characteristics at all times. The intelligent all-wheel drive provides maximum traction and loss-free distribution of the drive torque on all four wheels. Complemented by an active M Differential on the rear axle, the new BMW X3 M and BMW X4 M raise dynamic driving characteristics such as agility, cornering dynamics and precision to an unprecedented level in their segments. Both cars will offer an enticing taste of the typical M package, featuring the outstanding drive, high-precision chassis and innovative aerodynamics that are synonymous with the superior performance and agility of every BMW M car.

FINAL STAGE OF DEVELOPMENT.

Before the new BMW X3 M and the BMW X4 M are unleashed on the market to set new standards for Sports Activity Vehicles (SAV) and Sports Activity Coupés (SAC), both high-performance models will reach the final stage in their maturity at the Nürburgring. The legendary race track is the perfect venue for BMW M's ultimate testing and tuning programme.
